Jet Ski Dude Rental Requirements & Safety Info
Who Can Operate a Jet Ski?
- Born Before September 1, 1993: No license required.
- Born On or After September 1, 1993: A Texas Boater Education Certificate is required. Please bring proof to check-in.
- 14 and older with adult supervision, younger children can ride as a passenger with an adult.
What You’ll Need
- Valid photo ID at check-in.
- Signed waiver for each rider (minors need a parent or guardian signature).
- Boater Education Certificate if required by Texas law.
Safety Gear Provided
- Coast Guard–approved life jackets included for all riders – from XS (for the littles) up to 4XL.
- Kill switch lanyards must be worn by the operator during use.
Weight & Rider Limits
- Maximum combined weight: 500 lbs per jet ski.
- Best suited for 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 children.
No Towing Allowed
For your safety and the safety of others, towing of tubes, skis, or any other equipment is strictly prohibited. The exception is when you are renting our ski boat with a captain.
Fuel
- First full tank of fuel is included with every Jet Ski rental.
- Additional fuel is available for an extra charge if needed.
Location
All rentals take place at Canyon Lake, Texas, located inside Canyon Park near Boat Ramp 18.
Just look for the Jet Ski Dude setup once you're inside the park!
Texas Water Rules & Safety Guidelines
- Alcohol Limit: A BAC over 0.08 is illegal while operating any watercraft.
- Life Jackets: Required for everyone onboard at all times.
- Reckless Driving: No jumping wakes or riding too close to others.
- Safe Distance: Maintain at least 50 feet from other vessels, swimmers, and the shore (unless idling).
- No Circling: Avoid circling near fishing or water sport activity zones.
- No Night Use: Park closes at 7:00 pm
Cancellation/Refund Policy
- Full Refund: Cancel 5 or more days before your reservation.
- 50% Refund: Cancel with less than 5 days’ notice.
- Weather-Related Cancellations: Full refund if inclement weather prevents safe operation.
- Weather-Related Early Return to Shore: Prorated refund of unused rental time.
- Safety First: We reserve the right to cancel any rental if conditions are unsafe. If we do, you’ll receive a full refund.
- If we remove you from a Jet Ski due to negligent or unsafe driving, you will not receive a refund for any unused time.
- No refund will be given for unused time if you crash a Jet Ski.
